Block paving a driveway
In order for a driveway to handle heavy loads, the ground preparation has to be firm. We excavate 300mm from the finished level to apply 200mm of compacted aggregates. We apply a weed fabric and insert a layer of sharp sand or granite dust. Once compacted we level the area, concrete any edgings and lay 50mm Blocks. Once laid we brush in a kiln dry sand to lock in the paving and prevent weed growth. We compact the driveway, add additional sand and sweep of any access. The driveway is now ready for use.
